Ashleigh Ross joined DeKalb Surgical Associates in September 2021. Dr. Ross is originally from Dunedin, Florida. She earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. As a medical student she did her surgery rotation at DeKalb Medical, now Emory Decatur, under the mentorship of Dr Michael Champney. It was that experience that kindled her interest in pursuing general surgery as her specialty. She has completed her surgical residency at Wright State University, including a final year as chief surgical resident. At graduation, she earned the Trauma Resident of the Year award. And in only her second year in practice, she has joined Drs. Champney and Kennedy as an Atlanta Magazine Top Doc. She is board certified by the American College of Surgeons.

Her surgical interests include hernia repair and robotic surgery, and also brings a wealth of knowledge and surgical skills for treatment of the spectrum of surgical diseases including gallbladder disease, intestinal diseases, breast cancer, and anatomical exposure for spinal surgical procedures.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two dogs and doing CrossFit with her husband, Jim.
